Kathleen Mitchell

Actor. Singer. Dancer

Meet Kathleen!

Amongst other things, Kathleen is an actor, singer, dancer, and teaching artist. Born and raised in Kansas, she performed for a captive audience of two (thanks, Mom and Pop!) until the age of ten, when she finally got on a real stage. The magic of musical theatre helped her discover her voice, both figuratively and literally. A storyteller at heart (ask any of her friends who have heard them all multiple times), she soon realized that her love of song was more than just a love of music, but a love of being in communion with others.

A 2019 graduate of Millikin University, Kathleen married her vocal skill with her affinity for connection by achieving a degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. While in college, she performed, taught theatre to incarcerated women and underprivileged children, devised and choreographed original work, served on the executive board of Alpha Psi Omega, and studied abroad in London. You can find Kathleen today playing Shakespeare leading women (and men), dancing in an ensemble, singing in a rock musical, or teaching theatre to total beginners. Kathleen is regularly praised for her versatility, work ethic, and good-natured spirit, and loves to work outside her comfort zone.

Outside of theatre, she loves tending to her jungle of houseplants, going on walks, taking care of her nieces and nephews, and generally acting a fool. Kathleen is passionate, goofy, powerful, and energetic, and firmly believes that art is one of the most effective tools to promote change in the world.
